Christmas time, eBay is down...

(the title should have been sung to Cliff Richard's "Mistletoe and Wine" chorus)

So, wonder what your loved ones will think of your gifts this Christmas?
Well, look no further than eBay. The site is down which indicates to me that most of the Britain has woken up, opened their pressies and decided to flog them/get replacements. Maybe I am just being cynical but maybe there'll be a yarn bargain or two to be had? Or maybe I should finally get around to purchasing a digital camera for myself (hey, would have asked the parents but since the laptop died a month ago, that's been on the top of my list instead)
I have missed the deadline to finish 'Matt' for my boyfriend for Christmas so instead he's given me until new year, which we're spending in Brussels. Yes I know, a bit late etc... But it sucks when you leave your crochet hook in your other flat (or at least I prefer to join the arm sleeves in with a hook rather than a needle). Anyone with any sort of knowledge on Brussels like to enlighten me on the location of yarn stores?
I am also working on (amongst other WIPs) Clapotis in an alpaca-silk I scored off eBay. Photos soon (my bro' has gone off to Ely Cathedral for the day to show my cousin from Japan around and took the camera with him). Have just started the 'straight' bit (if you're familiar with the pattern, you start by creating a triangle first, then start going off to make the rhomboid bit).
I just hope I will have enough yarn. I have 200g of this stuff (not sure of yardage as it didn't say) and I've looked at the seller's stuff but they only seem to have it stocked in every other colourway at the moment. I've only used about 40g so far. I suppose that's what you get when you buy a one-off and you're too cheap to 'buy it now'.
I also finished the back of 'Plaza' from the RYC cafe book -but substituted cashcotton dk with Debbie Bliss cashmere cotton as I bought a large cone for cheap a year or so ago and needed to find a use for it. I remember now how horrible cotton is to knit with (the cashmere content of this yarn is a bit of a joke but does make the cotton *slightly* fluffier and softer to wear)

Right kids, I have an essay to research now on "cycle movement", of all things.
